The Sotra Connection will develop the road system in the area, and will be a great improvement for all road users between Sotra in Øygarden municipality and Loddefjord in Bergen municipality.

In addition to the new four-lane Sotra Bridge, the Sotra Connection includes road tunnels, pedestrian- and cycle lanes, public transportation roads and lanes, four-lane roads, bridges for pedestrians and cyclists and more.

The project provides the foundation for further growth and development in the region.

Via Sotra - a collaboration between several actors

Via Sotra is an international consortium gathering companies with complementary expertise.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has qualified VIA Sotra to the clarification- and offer phase to win the contract RV. 555 Sotrasambandet.

Via Sotra consists of ACCIONA Concesiones S.L. (based in Spain),  Implenia Switzerland Ltd. (based in Switzerland) and VINCI Concessions S.A.S. and VINCI Highways S.A.S (based in France).

ACCIONA, Implenia and VINCI are all established in Norway and involved in the development of large, complex infrastructure projects in the railway, road and renewable energy sector.

The contract is scheduled to be signed in the summer of 2021, with construction activities starting in the autumn of 2021. The contract has an estimated value of around 17 billion NOK.
